SPARK: Spotlight
This week we are shining the spotlight on the Butte Republican Women’s Federation for their outstanding Field Trip to “AG Day at the Capital” in Sacramento!
Butte RWF did a fantastic job gathering their members for a day filled with education, camaraderie, and celebration of California agriculture. From insightful tours and expert presentations (including one from their own knowledgeable member Colleen Cecil) to a delicious farm-to-fork meal, they created a memorable experience that strengthened friendships while highlighting the vital role agriculture plays in our state and nation.
We are especially proud that two Butte RWF members — Kirsten Southam and Colleen Cecil — serve on the newly formed NFRW Agriculture Committee, along with two other dedicated CFRW members. Their leadership and passion for promoting American agriculture are truly inspiring!
We also know that members from other CFRW clubs participated in AG Day in Sacramento, and we thank them for their involvement as well.
Events like this are exactly what keeps our clubs strong — bringing members together around issues that matter deeply to them and to California’s future.

SPARK in Practice:
Ask your members to report their volunteer hours at every monthly meeting. Regular reporting keeps those hours fresh in mind from the previous month and prevents many hours from being lost when recalling six months at once.
Volunteer Hours and Calls
The second NFRW Political & Campaign Volunteer Award period ends June 30th! Now is the time to collect all the volunteer hours and calls our members have contributed from January 1 through June 30, 2026.
We know how hard our Republican women have been working — supporting candidates during the primary election, attending monthly club meetings, monitoring local city council and board of supervisors meetings, making calls, knocking on doors for GOTV, and so much more. Every one of these activities counts!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE reach out to your club members right away and gather their hours and calls so your Club President can report them as soon as the reporting window opens July 1–15. When in doubt, count the hour and count the call!
Republican women are known for getting things done — now let’s make sure our hard work is properly recognized at the state and national levels. Your efforts deserve to be celebrated!

Membership growth remains one of the strongest indicators of a healthy and thriving organization. Across California, CFRW clubs continue to make meaningful progress in recruiting, retaining, and engaging members.
Membership Update Highlights
• Membership database participation continues to grow as more clubs recognize its value for communication, organization, and member engagement.
• Regional Directors have played a key role in increasing awareness and encouraging club participation across the state.
• Clubs are making strong progress toward membership goals, reflecting the dedication of local leaders and members.
• Many clubs have earned recognition through NFRW’s USA 250 Membership Challenge, with several meeting or exceeding their goals.
• Success is being seen across clubs of all sizes, demonstrating that growth is possible in every region through outreach and engagement.
• Website and social media inquiries continue to generate interest and new memberships, highlighting the importance of maintaining a visible and welcoming presence.
• The combined efforts of club leaders, Regional Directors, and members are strengthening CFRW and positioning our organization for continued growth and success.
Every new member represents another voice, another volunteer, and another opportunity to advance our mission. Thank you to the Club Presidents, Regional Directors, and members whose efforts are helping CFRW continue to grow and thrive.
The official Call to the CFRW Virtual Summer Board of Directors Meeting has been sent out, and we are excited to share more details about this important statewide event! Be sure to carefully read the entire Call to Meeting for registration information, meeting details, and important deadlines.
This year’s Summer BOD Meeting will be completely virtual, with no in-person meeting location. However, clubs are strongly encouraged to gather locally and host watch parties with fellow members. These gatherings are a wonderful opportunity to build camaraderie, strengthen friendships, and enjoy the experience of participating in a statewide CFRW event together while avoiding the additional costs of travel and lodging.
We are thrilled to feature two outstanding speakers at this event. More information about these amazing speakers is included below.
In addition to hearing from our speakers, members will participate in important CFRW business, including the election of a new CFRW 4th Vice President.
This promises to be an informative and engaging event, and we encourage every member and every club to participate. Keep watching these weekly emails and CFRW communications for additional updates and announcements as we get closer, and I look forward to seeing everyone on June 27th!

Heidi Parker Martin is the Treasurer of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) and Director of Region 2 (that’s us!!). A dedicated conservative leader from Louisiana, she has held numerous roles in the NFRW and Louisiana Federation of Republican Women, including past service as NFRW Secretary, and is the founding president of a Republican women’s club.
You’ll be inspired by Heidi—she’s a powerhouse of conservative activism who motivates Republican women to lead with confidence, build strong local networks, and create lasting impact for our shared values of faith, family, and freedom.
