PRESIDENT’S WEEKLY SPARK
SPARK: Knowledge
Your Time Has Real Value
Did you know that the Independent Sector, the nation’s leading authority on nonprofit research, estimates the value of a volunteer hour in California at $41.75?
That means:
10 volunteer hours = $417.50 in community impact
25 volunteer hours = $1,043.75
100 volunteer hours = $4,175.00
While none of us volunteers because we’re looking for a paycheck, these numbers help demonstrate something we already know: our time matters.
Every membership event, voter registration drive, campaign headquarters shift, board meeting, legislative event, scholarship fundraiser, newsletter, phone call, and community service project represents an investment in California and our communities.
That’s why reporting your volunteer hours is so important. It allows CFRW to tell the full story of the tremendous impact our members are making across the state—not just through dollars raised, but through hours freely given in service to others.
Please don’t let your service go uncounted. Keep track of your volunteer hours and share them with your club president. Every meeting planned, every phone call made, every voter contacted, every event organized, every scholarship awarded, and every act of service helps tell the story of who we are as Republican women. When every club reports every hour, we demonstrate the true strength and impact of CFRW across California.
Our Federation isn’t measured only by the number of members we have, but by the difference those members make. Reporting volunteer hours allows us to showcase the extraordinary service happening in every corner of California and reminds others that CFRW is an organization of women who don’t just talk about improving our communities—we roll up our sleeves and do it.
Together, our volunteer hours add up to millions of dollars’ worth of service every year—but more importantly, they represent lives touched, communities strengthened, and a lasting legacy of leadership, patriotism, and service.
SPARK in Practice:
Stay Connected! Summer schedules can get busy, but relationships don’t take a vacation. If members can’t attend a meeting, reach out with a quick phone call, text, or email. A simple “We missed you!” can make all the difference in helping someone stay connected.
PRO TIP: Don’t skip the underlined text! Each link opens the door to valuable resources, connections across our Federation, and simple next steps to help you take action.
We Want to See YOU in September
September in Burbank
As we announced at the Virtual BOD meeting in June, our next in-person event will be held in Burbank on September 25-26, 2026. I am working hard to secure some amazing speakers for you, so please stay tuned for the official Call to Convention coming soon with more details.
In the meantime, please save the date and plan to attend this conference in September. We would love to see each club represented at this meeting!
Membership Momentum Doesn't Take a Summer Break!
Summer is a season filled with vacations, family gatherings, and well-deserved time away—but it’s also a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our Federation.
While attendance at meetings may look a little different during the summer months, our mission never takes a vacation. Every conversation, community event, parade, festival, service project, and casual get-together is an opportunity to share who we are and invite someone to become part of our incredible organization.
Membership isn’t about selling—it’s about sharing. Share why you joined. Share the friendships you’ve made, the leadership you’ve developed, the knowledge you’ve gained, and the difference you’ve seen Republican women making in communities across California. Your personal story is the most powerful membership tool you have.
This summer, I encourage every member to make it a goal to invite at least one guest to a club meeting or event. You never know whose life might be changed by finding a place to serve, connect, and make a difference alongside women who share their values.
Remember, every new member brings fresh ideas, new energy, unique talents, and another voice committed to strengthening our communities and our country. Together, we continue building a Federation that is growing, thriving, and prepared for the important work ahead.
Thank you for everything you do to welcome new faces, encourage returning members, and represent CFRW with enthusiasm and pride. Your dedication is what makes our organization so special.
Let’s keep our membership momentum strong all summer long. Every invitation matters. Every conversation counts. Every new member helps write the next chapter of CFRW’s success.
Together, let’s continue to Connect, Grow, and Inspire—one member at a time.
Your Club’s Time to Shine
Did you know that CFRW members are some of the hardest-working people in our state? Of course you did because YOU are one of them! Every member in every club represents hours of different levels of involvement. There are members who attend monthly club meetings, members who put hours into planning each of those meetings, members who attend local school board or city council meetings, members who walk precincts and make phone calls for candidates, register voters, and, of course, read newsletters like this one. Every hour spent doing these activities and so many others is a valuable contribution to the federation and for each of you as individuals. They may not seem like they are worth “bragging” about, but they are important and worth sharing.
I am asking all members to actively get your volunteer hours to your Club President to make it easier for them to report them to NFRW. We want to be able to show the rest of the Federation what an asset we are here in California for the Republican Party and our values. Please take a few minutes to calculate how many hours you have given to the Federation from January 1, 2026 through June 30, 2026. Send that number along with the number of phone calls you’ve made to your Club Presidents.
Club Presidents, you will need to enter these into the NFRW website before July 30th. If you need any help doing that, please view the training video from NFRW by clicking the button below, or by emailing me, CFRW 3rd Vice President, Bibi Mesmer.
